Cranfield Trust
We’re going a bit meta this month. In the two-plus years since Tithe began, we’ve given to organisations tackling poverty, climate change, homelessness, global conflict, and more. But this time, we’re supporting something upstream: the act of giving itself. More specifically, we’re funding the infrastructure that helps frontline charities work smarter, lead better, and make a deeper impact.
This month’s featured organisation, Cranfield Trust, does just that: it offers pro bono management consultancy to UK-based social welfare charities, helping them build the skills, strategies, and systems they need to thrive.
For over 30 years, Cranfield Trust has paired experienced business professionals with non-profits working to tackle poverty, homelessness, domestic abuse, and other complex social issues. These partnerships are transformative—not just for the charities themselves, but for the thousands of vulnerable people they support. Whether it’s helping a small community group define its strategy, improve governance, or build financial resilience, the Trust brings vital, often inaccessible expertise into the heart of the social sector.
What makes Cranfield Trust special is its deep understanding of how charity really works—not as a corporate analog, but as a values-led ecosystem where resources are scarce and impact matters more than margins. Their services are tailored, free, and rooted in relationships. In the past year alone, they’ve delivered over £2 million worth of support to charities across the UK.
They don’t chase headlines or carbon offsets. But in quiet, powerful ways, they strengthen the social fabric of this country. And right now, that’s something we need more of.
